Announcements

COURTICE LIONS CLUB was chartered on Sept. 3, 1997, and incorporated on Nov. 25, 2003. We were sponsored by the Bowmanville Lions Club.

Courtice (population 35,000) is part of The Municipality of Clarington (population 80,000), Ontario, Canada. It is located 50 km East of Toronto, on the North shore of Lake Ontario, along Highway 2 (King Street), between Oshawa to the West, and Bowmanville to the East. The Darlington Nuclear Plant is located in Courtice.

We have completed the first phase of the upgradeing to the Courtice Lions Millennium Trail, with the assistance of a $15,000 Ontario Trillium Grant. We have applied for a second grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to put in a pedestrian bridge.

TESTIMONIALS
Adrian Foster, Councillor, Municipality of Clarington
"The Lions Club of Courtice should be congratulated on being an active and integral part of Clarington. The group displays all of the characteristics that you'd expect of Lions, whether they are providing 'sweat equity' in our neighbourhoods or fundraising for a worthy cause, the spirit of generosity and care for community is always evident." Subsequent to providing this testamonial, Adrian Foster has joined the Courtice Lions Club.

Don MacArthur, Former Councillor, Municipality of Clarington
"One of the things that makes Clarington such a great place is the level of volunteer involvement and the scope of their community minded work. The Courtice Lions Club is one such group of people who give of themselves tirelessly with such projects as sponsoring guide dogs, the VIP programme in the schools, the eyeglass collections and diabetes awareness programes. All of these, and many other things the Lions do, make our municipality better. Their efforts do not go un-noticed and are much appreciated by council and the citizens of Clarington."
